Our commitment to quality youth programming has led to recent local and national achievements for our organization. Some highlights have included:
  • In January of 2005 the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health and the Goizueta School of Business awarded Cool Girls the MLK Community Service Award for work that exemplifies the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
  • In November of 2004 Cool Girls was awarded the Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA) Terrific Award in the Elementary/Middle School category for our Cool Tech technology education program.
  • In October 2003, The Greater Atlanta Community Foundation awarded Cool Girls the Managing for Excellence Award for our thoughtful and strategic approach to strong leadership, sound administration and financial condition in our organization.
  • In March 2003, Cool Girls and Cynthia Tucker received the Use Your Life Award from Oprah's Angel Network highlighting Cynthia's commitment as a Cool Sister mentor, and the work of the organization.
  • In February 2003, Cool Girls was hand-selected as the first organization south of Washington DC to join the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation's Youth Development Fund.
  • In 2003 Cool Girls was selected as a Supplemental Educational Services (SES) provider in the State of Georgia for the No Child Left Behind program.
  • In August 2002, Population Connection named Cool Girls as one of ten "Gold Star Projects" in a report of 239 youth-serving programs in cities throughout the United States.
