Scholarship Fund

The prospect of paying for a college education is daunting to a family with few financial resources. For a girl in this situation, a scholarship can help her to pursue her dreams. In 2000, Cool Girls established the Cool Girls Scholarship Fund to assist graduates of our program with financial aid for college.

Young women interested in applying for the scholarship must meet the following criteria: 1) Be a Cool Girls alumnae, having participated in Cool Girls programming for at least 3 years; 2) Be connected as a volunteer with Cool Girls during their high school years; 3) maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least a 2.0 rating throughout high school; 4) complete the scholarship application; and 5) demonstrate financial need.

In 2004, Cool Girls awarded its first scholarships to Iris Williams and Soraya Johnson at a luncheon hosted by our partner, AGL Resources. Iris is using her scholarship to attend Atlanta Technical College where she majors in business office technology. Soraya attends DeVry University where she is currently studying computer information systems.
